THEY DO WHAT THEY BELIEVE IN. They like and respect old things. Nanovo is a store that sells original used art and design objects from the latter 20th century.
Adam Karásek and Jiří Mrázek opened Nanovo in 2011 with the simple idea of offering original high quality furniture and furnishings that are marginalized in the Czech Republic and usually unknown abroad. They focus primarily on design from the former Czechoslovakia but they also carry original objects from other countries. Nanovo only sells original objects from the latter half of the 20th century that have been partially or completely renovated to renew their purpose and beauty.
Pasta Oner is a middle generation pop artist with roots in graffiti and street art, who is also a pioneer and promoter of these genres in the Czech Republic. He is the publisher and editor in chief of "Clique", the only Czech street culture magazine, and in 2010 he represented the Czech Republic at EXPO in Shanghai.
Beginning is a project conceived jointly by students of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, Sebastian Kitzberger of the Glass Studio and Štěpán Smetana from the Architecture Studio. The Beginning light fixtures come in a wide range of colors and finishes. There is an amber variation with small pyramids, a uranium model with horizontal lines and a smooth version in crystal or smoky grey. The collection of Beginning table and hanging lamps is the beginning of long-term collaboration between designers Kitzberger and Smetana.
